YANBU - he/she will appreciate it. Could always rope them in to a bit of baby sitting as well.

DP is under the impression I clean our car and do the garden I pay my neighbours children to do it - £7 for the car/weeding and chocolate for their silence!!

sounds like a win-win to me - I paid DS 20p to hand the washing out earlier - looks like I'm going to have to pay same again to get him to bring it back in cos of the rain

Not at all.
Good for them to earn some money- you can do other things .
DD is earning £40 for feeding someone's cat for 2 weeks. Not bad.

We pay 2 teenagers in our street to cut grass / do weeding etc. Made such a difference coming back from holiday to cut grass!

well, i got on & tidied up. still haven't done the painting that needs doing, though - i wonder if the lad next door is any good with a paint brush?
