why? give us a summary and i'll think about it. having read the thread title only, i think, ok, fine, put a pole up. do what you like. can't see what the issue is.

is there more to it?

PlumBumMum · 21/07/2010 22:52

Have just read the last post can't be botheres reading the whole thread but I wouldn't let her wind you up,
I am far from being a prudish, boring, nagging housewife but I wouldn't put a pole in my living room, I know someone who has a pole and is going to put it in her bedroom, I didn't bat an eyelid, but if she had said she was putting it in her living room I would have been slightly shocked

foureleven · 21/07/2010 22:52

My kids play on my poles all the time, we have even done a dance together! My kids watch me practice some times, to them its a piece of exercise equipment...

Poshwellies · 21/07/2010 22:53

Dh has a rusty old scaffold pole out the back,do you think he's hoping to erect it in the front room?

foureleven · 21/07/2010 22:53

Its not the topic or opinions in general I find shocking but this persons post hasnt got the attention it deserves...

larks35 · 21/07/2010 23:00

no offense foureleven, but you are just hyping up attention to said post and youtube video. If it really concerns you then report it, if you are just a bit disgusted/horrified then ignore it and don't re-post link.

peeringintothevoid · 21/07/2010 23:10

Thanks to foureleven , I went to the thread and watched Studioveena's video. I think it's fabulous!! Great music that totally fits the video, quirky family, cute kids, skilled dancer on the pole. Hilarious - what's not to like??

If you are courting people to slag her off, then YABU.

LimaCharlie · 21/07/2010 23:13

I was on it early on but gave up - will go have a nosey read

foureleven · 22/07/2010 08:02

I dont want to report it fgs.

I just think its amazingly odd and wanted to share it with others..

darkandstormy · 22/07/2010 08:30

at least a pole takes up less room than an exercise bike,so what if it could be construed as being sexy, there is nothing wrong with that is there?can't see the problem to be honest, go for it.

I haven't read any of the thread but have watched the video (with the sound off because I am in shared office !) - they look like they are having loads of fun !

Definitely wacky.

sparkle12mar08 · 22/07/2010 09:44

Cheap, nasty and common! That do you?!

Mingg · 22/07/2010 10:03

Haven't read much of the thread either and agree with throckenholt, they look like they are having fun.

maduggar · 22/07/2010 10:03

I must be weird and wacky and common because I found that video cute!

lowenergylightbulb · 22/07/2010 10:40

I thought that the video was great. She looks like a real fun mum.

Body like that after 4 kids? Best ad I've ever seen for pole-dancing...

Miggsie · 22/07/2010 11:39

Why do poeple want to dance round a pole?

It's a bit unimaginative isn't it?

I also remember a docuemtary about the 1919 flu epidemic when one of the poeple said that there were so many coffins piled in the street waiting to be taken for burial, that the kids just played round them and on them. She said "we didn't really understand what it was about." So kids having fun with something is not always an arbiter of good taste.
