To think a 48 hour antiperspirant is gross?

Ew ew ew.

Just seem the new Right Guard advert - do we really need to be encouraging teenage boys men to wash less than they already do?

Though on a more serious note, surely that can't be good for your skin...

Sorry, teenage boys.

I agree, it makes me shudder.

Little feckers should have it drilled into them to wash at least daily. What next - reversible undercrackers?

That said, I think most people err towards being shower dodgers. I'm a strictly two showers a day kinda gal.

2 showers a day? WTF?

specialmagiclady · 21/07/2010 23:09

I am a user of 48 hour protection - and I shower AT LEAST once a day (I'm a swimming teacher so I kind of have to).

The reason I use it is basically I'm a bit of a stinker. Products advertised as having 24 hour protection leave me distinctly stinky at the end of a day. 48 hour protection on the side of a thing of deodorant is a message that the product will work!

SirBoobAlot · 21/07/2010 23:10

No, but surely you still wash, Altinkum?

YANBU I did see a 48 hour deodorant marketed at women too

LittleMissHissyFit · 21/07/2010 23:25

48 hours? that's nothing!

In egypt they market a ONCE A WEEK antiperspirant...

Mind you, over there, seriously, many, if not most don't bath more than once a week or so...

Down wind really isn't pleasant!

seeyoukay · 21/07/2010 23:27

If you make a car with a one litre engine someone will make a 2 litre engine.

I don't think it encourages not washing its just a marketing one upmanship.

TheMoonOnAStick · 21/07/2010 23:30

I am quite suspicious of whatever they put in many antipersperants.

What on earth does a 48 hr one have in it that makes it work for so long??

onadietcokebreak · 21/07/2010 23:30

Mitchum...48hrs its fab..

I still shower every day but on the rare occassion I forget to put it on it still seems to work...scary!

colditz · 21/07/2010 23:30

LMHF - seriously? once a WEEK deodorant?

Isn't that also known as Napalm?

DoYouWantToKnowASecret · 21/07/2010 23:30

I am very happy I no longer have to wash every day. Leaves me more time for judging people on the computer spending quality time with DC.

Poshwellies · 21/07/2010 23:34

I don't see this need for showering 2x a day,it screws your skin up.

Unless you are running daily marathons, surely you do NOT need to shower constantly?

seriously colditz! I had to call dh to make sure they'd translated correctly! Some of them over there were crawling they were so ripe!

I was once woken from a deep sleep at 4am by someone leaving their shoes at the door, 20ft from my closed bedroom door. He literally stank out the flat! It took 2 days to shift it!

Lol, Napalm would have been most welcome!

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 21/07/2010 23:44

I agree with specialmagiclady -- a "48 hour" antiperspirant just means that it stands a good chance of actually working for 24 hours on the smelly.

Nemofish · 21/07/2010 23:44

Undercrackers aren't reversible?

Blimey...

(I jest, I am almost pathologically clean)

NarkyPuffin · 21/07/2010 23:47

Some people really don't need to shower every day. My mother could spend the day scrubbing floors and still not sweat one drop. I didn't inherit this unfortunately.

Aren't you supposed to wash anti perspirant off at night?

rubbersoul · 22/07/2010 00:15

Surely it just implies that it's so effective it could last for that long...

ChippingIn · 22/07/2010 00:51

I usually shower 2x a day and it doesn't mess with my skin.

I shower in the morning to be fresh and to wake up and I shower at night because I like to go to bed feeling clean & fresh, but I only wash my hair in the morning shower (yes, everyday and it's incredibly heathy and shiney, not boasting, just saying before someone tells me it's not good for my hair!!) - what's wrong with that?

However, if I'm staying in other peoples houses I make do with one in the morning as I feel rude using 2x hot water...

My Ex partner would have tried the new 48 hr ones because he developed a problem with very wet underarms and it was embarassing for him - we tried them Mitchum and other 'natural' ones as well, none of them helped a lot...

Teenage boys either spend all day in the shower or all day avoiding it - a new anti perspirant isn't going to change that!!!
