Got peckish at work mid-morning, went to the Tesco local or whatever it is and picked up a pasta salad thing in a pot. Got back to the office, looked at the numbers (I always do this, I'm a loser).

It contained:

  • 125 calories
  • 20% of your daily fat allowance
  • 5% (I think) of your daily salt allowance

IN ONE TABLESPOONFUL!!!

How do they manage to fit all the crap in?

btw I couldn't eat it once I'd read that, so I gave it to a boy who happily scoffed it.

i was tempted by their lasagne sandwich the other day

Chil1234 · 21/07/2010 20:35

Are you sure? They don't normally give the nutrition info 'per tablespoon'. 'Per 100g', 'per serving', 'per pot'.....

Jasonthunderpants · 21/07/2010 20:47

because its tasty thats why
carrot v pork pie
cellery v sausage
no contest really

secunda · 21/07/2010 20:48

Honestly. It said per tablespoon, presumably because the figures per pot, per 100g etc. were so hair-raising

are you sure? 20% of suggested daily fat allowance in one tablespoon full?!? I think you could have a tablespoon full of olive oil and use less of your allowance (don't quote me on that, only surmising...) blimey, who said "salad" was 'ealthy? May as well have bought yourself a portion of chips!

kayah · 21/07/2010 20:52

holy crap
I would look for it next time
was it drenched in oil?

secunda · 21/07/2010 20:59

Honest, it was. [crosses heart, hopes to die]

I nearly dropped it.

It had a fuck of a lot of mayonnaise in it.

StealthPolarBear · 22/07/2010 08:51
