Being spring March,April. Then a brief Summer of May Through to mid or end of July followed by a monsoon/wet season through to first/second week of September. Then 2 weeks of autumnal sunshine.Autumn through to November winter then till Feb.This pattern has repeated itself for years where I live.So 6 weeks of "Summer" holiday is little more than a monsoon washout.AIBU or should the powers that be address this issue and rearrange the 6 week holiday to a sunnier time, seeing that the kids now don,t need 6 weeks to help with the traditional harvesting of crops like they did 100 yrs ago.Or am I just plain being unreasonable?

I seem to remember a BBC article about a year or so ago suggesting that the school holidays are moved to May or June since August is always a wet month in Britain.

Scottish school hols are mid/late June to mid August. It has rained ever single day since they broke up.
