To be [confused] as to what to dress 8mo DS in for a wedding??

Was just going to go with standard summerwear, White t shirt and cotton stripy shorts, nothing 'special' at all, as I'm not a fan of the dressing babies up in suits and shirts look... But can't see any middle ground between the casual summerwear and the other extreme for boys? Am I missing something??

I was going to say just dress him in his normal clothes, he is only wee.

But then I found this. Ahem.

How about something from an ethnic clothing shop? Maybe some linen shorts and a shirt? MY sis has a lovely set for my nephew they bought in greece and it looks dead cute.

duplotogo · 18/07/2010 20:58

I think a short sleeved shirt might be nice if you could stand to do up all the buttons

fiveweeksandcounting · 18/07/2010 20:58

That sounds fine or maybe substitute the Tshirt for a polo shirt or some linen shorts. Like you I detest babies in suits or really stiff outfits

Alambil · 18/07/2010 20:58

you could get a nice cotton shirt and trousers for him that he can have as "normal" clothes

We went to a christening last year when DS3 was about the same age as your DS. He wore something like this and a lot of people commented how lovely he looked.

Haliborange, thats cute!

yes i would go for a little cotton shirt (monsoon sale on at the moment!!) and some proper shorts or trousers

FionaSH · 18/07/2010 21:03

lewisfan I like it, ds hasn't much in his wardrobe like that, I shall have a look for summer dungarees.
Agree on polo shirt for a smarter t shirts.
Thanks for the ideas!!

sounds perfect, what you have thought of , already. I think a shirt on an 8 month old looks a bit silly!

FionaSH · 18/07/2010 21:14

My problem is that I like to dress him like a baby.... Because he is one.... But he's in 24month old clothing. Which unfortunately seems to be combats and camouflage gear all the way. I thought Gap/joules/White company, but it's all quite 'grown up'. I shall look more closely at m&s I think! Thanks!

I dressed my DS in a lovely outfit from jojo maman bebe for my brothers wedding when he was 11 months old. He looked lovely, just right.

Just bought my two boys something similar for a wedding we;re off too! They look soooo cute.

DD1 wore regular cotton dungarees to a wedding when she was 8 months old - she looked like a baby and no-one (especially not the bride or groom) minded that she'd not been dressed up 'properly'.
