To expect the rural pub next door to stop the music now?

Been going on for hours. They did warn us but I've had enough. Can hear every word.

I fucking hate other peoples' noise and music.

That's why I hate this place so much.

You have my empathy.

There is no way I will ever live near a pub again.

Been there, bought the tshirt.

And we a block away from one, not next door.

There's a three bed flat over a pub here that is still up for let.

Duh!

I hope they turn it off soon.

YANBU. Warned you may have been but so what, it's not as if you could have done much to prevent it, is it?

I live in a rural village too, (luckily the other end of it from the sole pub) and one of the reasons I do so is because I like the peace and quiet. The greatest noise I hear post 9pm apart from my DDs is that of foxes screeching. I opted for that. I didn't opt to live with loud music, and clearly neither did you.

That said, a friend is a pub landlady in a market town. She always argues that the pub has been there for 200 years, far longer than any resident so local residents bought/rented kknowing that there was a pub nearby and knowing that with a pub comes noise.

If it's a one-off and within understood limits you will have to grin and bear it. If it becomes a habiit or the noise is genuinely excessive then you can oppose their music license or complain to the council's environmental health department.

It's a one-off. Just bloody annoying cos we are driving across europe with a 1 year old tomorrow and I could really do with my sleep....
