GRRR!!!!!!!

I didn't recieve a VIP slot, I didn't even get an email telling me they were having a sale until 11am today, when the sale started at 5.

If I have an account I expect to be informed of these things, and I expect all customers to have the same opportunities to make purchases.

I have written a complaining email.

I don't see other stores treating customers differently on such a mass scale!

I am annoyed- am shopping at Boden from now on!

It's mostly going to be tat in the sale anyway. I gave up shopping with Next because of their delivery charge.

paisleyleaf · 17/07/2010 11:51

I think Boden have VIPs (privvy to previews etc) too.

(You can tell who they are - they dress like Auntie Mabel off 'Come Outside).

onebadbaby · 17/07/2010 11:53

The Boden preview seems to open to anyone though, you find out about it from their facebook page! It's simply about knowledge with them, which can be found out with a little digging, but Next is by personal invitation only.

Some years I get an invitation to a VIP slot, some years I don't...lucky dip which is bizarre. I prefer the Boden previews anyway, much better quality but I guess Next is good for some stuff too. I got some good multipack maternity vests etc there this year which are still going.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 17/07/2010 11:57

The next sale is shit.

50ftQueenie · 17/07/2010 12:01

Auntie Mabel is a style icon....

50ftQueenie · 17/07/2010 12:02

Or glasses as they are known in the UK.

SagacityNell · 17/07/2010 12:04

Their shop is full of tat that doesn't fit right anyway.

thrifty · 17/07/2010 12:06

normally i would agree with pfft, however, we were in town at 8 this morning to get the free toy story lego with the mirror, but whsmith didn't open til 8.30, i noticed loads of people wandering about with nextsale bags, so we checked it out. there was loads of stuff, even in ds's size. i managed to get him 4 lego star wars tops for £5 or under each, so he was well chuffed.

the staff looked frazzled though, they'd been there since 4.30am and said people had been queuing to get in at that time! wtf

MissAnneElk · 17/07/2010 12:11

Same as mrsc2010. Sometimes I get a slot and sometimes I don't. I think they probably do it on number of orders or amount spent. I have ordered a lot this year as dd2 likes next and as she is 13 now we have to order online as the childrens things instore only go up to age 12.

There is always someone on a next sale thread who says "oh it's shit" or similar. Why bother opening the thread. Even if you don't like their clothes they have some surprising stuff in their home ware dept. Half price le creuset cookware and dualit toasters were both there.

mangoandlime · 17/07/2010 14:55

I always get a slot but really would rather chew my own arm off than stand in a queue at 4am for a few bits I don't really need.

websticks · 17/07/2010 15:22

I rang Next and ask why some people get vip slots and was told it is total random. Which i dont believe, i buy from the directory every season and have not had a vip slot for 2 years my sister however who very rarely buys from it gets a vip slot each time. I am fed up with it and may send an email to complain aswell as they are not treating their customers fairly at all.

CapitalText · 17/07/2010 16:37

YABU.

CarGirl · 17/07/2010 16:47

They have been in court over their postage charges though - if you return the items(s) I think they now have to refund the postage!

EmmaBemma · 17/07/2010 16:48

WHY would anyone get up for 5am on a weekend to do shopping? Madness.
