perhaps you should try and work it out before getting rid of him. There might be a book about english ppl, their likes and dislikes, why they are the way they are, which could be a good starting point?

Gosh how I sympathise - my dh has an applling Leicestershire accent. I've put up with it for 13 years now and feel that ebough is enough. I fully intend to Kill Him tonight. My children are beginning to flatten their vowels and everything. Us posh southerners shouldn't have to deal with such things. YANBU at all. In fact, everyone who doesn't speak in the way I want them to should in fact Die.

My DH is from Eire, and insists on pronouncing 'height' as 'heighth'. I've banned him from speaking to the DC.
