Have very gorgeous dh who I love dearly, however there has been a recent occasion when he had the post-alcohol horn and I was soooooooo not interested and asked if he'd mind if I carried on reading my book...

What was his response? And what was the book?

PandaEis · 15/07/2010 17:34

erm... if your DH didnt mind at the time then count yourself lucky my DH hates it when i watch TV when we are having a bit i doubt he would be agreeable to a book even if he was drunk haha

booyhoo · 15/07/2010 17:35

yanbu if you can get away with it

Sn0wflake · 15/07/2010 17:37

I think that you should say NO if you don't want to have sex. And if you do want to have sex you should be involved and excited about it.

My husband would be very offended if I suggested something like that. Seems a bit cool to me.

Wotevver · 15/07/2010 17:42

Can't remember the title now perhaps it might have helped if it had been erotic fiction.

ShatnersBassoon · 15/07/2010 17:45

I'd rather say no than be so passive.

nagoo · 15/07/2010 18:09

I would have said no. The thought of you two at it is creeping me out!

FallingWithStyle · 15/07/2010 18:11

Sorry but that is bizarre.

Cnat understand how either of you could enjoy it.

I'd rather not.

Lougle · 15/07/2010 18:16

eurgh no

Lavitabella · 15/07/2010 18:17

Only if it's the Karma sutra

geraldinetheluckygoat · 15/07/2010 18:20

LOL but you didnt actually read a book though did you?? You are joking, right?

Butterbur · 15/07/2010 18:25

YABU unless it's an erotic book - and you're reading it aloud!

Hai1988 · 15/07/2010 18:25

YANBU AT ALL, whats the problem he got the sex and you got to carryo n reading ur book

aleene · 15/07/2010 18:28

Is your life that busy that you can't put down your book for 2 minutes half an hour? This is very strange.

My friend used to do something similar, she called it 'a lazy f**k'...they're divorced now!

FallingWithStyle · 15/07/2010 18:37

I always thought the idea of women resentfully submitting to relations was just carry-on style mysogyny.

Apparently I was mistaken.

TheFoosa · 15/07/2010 18:40

yabu, that would ruin the book cover

FionaSH · 15/07/2010 18:43

I can't believe there are so many on this thread that think it's unreasonable. It's called multitasking! If I could get away with it, I so would.

glastocat · 15/07/2010 18:43

God, I think you must be doing it wrong!

Wotevver · 15/07/2010 18:48

lol

PfftTheMagicDragon · 15/07/2010 18:53

I have had moments where I have been reading in bed and I have pretended not to be interested just to make DH work harder but have never had the guts (or disinterest) to take it through to the end

blackflyinyourchardonnay · 15/07/2010 18:57

How do you make the words out though?

I just knocked my book up and down a bit to see if I could still read it, and maybe I need better glasses (or a life, eh?) but I couldn't follow a sentence!

ChippingIn · 15/07/2010 19:00

Christ on a bike some of you take life so seriously!!

I would have said 'Help yourself but I'm reading' - mind you, it would have only taken a couple of minutes of him 'helpig himself' to make me toss the book to one side

BarkisIsWilling · 15/07/2010 19:07

Well if you can't even remember the title of the book, I don't know if it's really worth it...
