Bloody knobbing Talk Talk

ShadeofViolet · 15/07/2010 14:30

I am so sick of my internet connection breaking.

But I am even sicker of thier shite excuses, how they will fix it, how they have twice managed to 'traced the problem back to the exchange' and still nothing bloody happens.

Whats worse is that it was my Idiot DH who decided that moving from Sky (who we never had any problems with) to Talk Talk which saves us about £2 a month was a great idea, despite me telling him it wasnt. Now we signed into a stupid year long contract. It goes off about 50 times a day.

Rant over

Oh no dont say that.

we were thinking of changing to them as virgin is so expensive

MiladyDeScorchio · 15/07/2010 15:38

They are doing the rounds where I live at the moment, I had to stop them mid-spiel because the phone rang. Should I repeat what you've told us if they come back?

gerontius · 15/07/2010 15:47

Don't say that, we switched to them four days ago!

Mum72 · 15/07/2010 15:55

They are shit.

Google TT complaints and see for yourself.

Deanna1977 · 15/07/2010 15:57

They are rubbish. I am moving to Sky!

SwansEatQuince · 15/07/2010 16:00

They are dreadful and a nightmare if you have to complain.

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 15/07/2010 16:01

They are total shite.

Thought you meant the group... how behind the times am I?

slushy · 15/07/2010 16:22

I had endless problems with talktalk Firstly I had a 12 month contract I tried to change after 14 months they tried to charge me £100, When the could not connect my internet I said could they stop charging me for it they said I was on a package and internet was free with international calls, I asked to cancel the INC they said I couldn't.

Worse yet talktalk take you off the normal lines so if you wanna go back on a normal line you have to go through BT. This does not count the endless connection problems and the fact that they charged me a £1 a minute for a low rate number sigh.

StripeyMoon · 15/07/2010 16:25

TT are trying to persuade us to go with their phone deal thingy at the moment. We were with tiscali and TT took over and are now trying to get our phone line too. i will not take them up if its bad news. I will show DH this thread later..

m0nkeynuts · 15/07/2010 16:50

I've been with them over a year and never had any problems at all ...

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 15/07/2010 16:55

Do not use talk talk - we were with them for a year and had huge problems. They don't actually save that much either.

PrettyVacant1 · 15/07/2010 17:09

TT put my Partner on hold whilst he was ringing to sort out our t'internet connection failure again
After 30 mins he hung up and redialed to try again.
Two seperate people cut him off before he had the chance to say that he'd tried blah, blah, blah and it still wasn't working.

He called back to really complain and ask to speak to a supervisor and they refused and hung up again.
phone line is with the twunts too.

An hour later we received a cold call from them asking if we'd be renewing our contract as it is due to end soon!

We'll be switching to Virgin/Sky asap.

Worthless barstewards.
A plague on both their houses.

Page62 · 15/07/2010 17:11

the 3 months we've had to deal with talk talk are the absolute worst experience of our lives so much so that we paid north of £100 for them to cut off our phone line, we had to ask for a new number from BT much to our inconvenience -- all because we didn't want to have anything to do with them whatsoever, ever again - not even for handover.

slushy · 15/07/2010 17:22

Pretty vacant you have to go through B.T because talk talk put the line on cable and only b.t are able to put you back on normal line. I tried sky a few months ago and virgin they both said they could not do it because we were on a cable line . So I now have to go with B.t for a year .

PrettyVacant1 · 15/07/2010 17:50

I think it's on a BT line anyway Slushy
Thanks for the heads up
I'm letting OH sort it, it's personal now!

jellyjelly · 15/07/2010 18:28

talktalk is awful, bad service, bad bills which you cant change the date to. Awful sh!tty company and the bloody call people cant understand you.

cece · 15/07/2010 18:35

I used to have Talk Talk. I cancelled it within about 2-3 weeks of getting it. I still get palpitations whenever I think of them

They are awful and that is being polite.

BarkisIsWilling · 15/07/2010 19:10

Mine cuts out too. Have I got the energy to call them up, though?

atmywitssend · 15/07/2010 19:58

I had really bad service from Talk Talk. Then I moved house. before doing so, I phoned to give them the moving date, e-mailed and wrote and then phoned to confirm I had moved. It took them a whole month to switch off my landline during which time the new owners couldn't get a line put in. Unbelievable.

ChippingIn · 15/07/2010 20:06

I had a problem with TalkTalk billing a month or so ago and they were great about it, total refund etc. However, they didn't give me the package I thought I was paying for and tell me 'they are sorry, but I was mis-sold it' - I could have argued the point, but it's under a fiver a month and right now I have bigger things to deal with.

What is driving me insane is the speed of the broadband and how much it just stops - yet they say it's not a problem. Yet when I use the same laptop at my friends (not on TT) I don't have any problems. When I gather some strength I will try to get it sorted.

I did wonder if it was because I didn't upgrade to their new 24mb 'upgrade'.... but stayed on the original plan I had....

PaulineCampbellJones · 15/07/2010 20:11

Slushy- BT can take your line back but you could take your calls through another provider once it is back over. Just take the contract on your line and not on a call package.
Hope that helps

MissAnneElk · 15/07/2010 20:21

TalkTalk are indeed shit. We took an 18 month contract with them. Internet connection is usually fine during the day but in the evening it ranges from quite slow to impossible to use. DH did ring them for a lengthy rant and they gave us a free month as compensation but refused to budge on the cancelation penalty. Normally I do the ranting but DH was the one who picked them! We will be changing.

slushy · 15/07/2010 20:29

We are gonna stay with BT for the 12month contract then switch to sky I think thanks we are 6months through the contract now so it won't be too long.
