my grandads written my new adress on my mums facebook wall.... ive asked for it removing but apparently i'm being silly..... i moved into the area to get away from my abusive ex that threatened to abduct my son from school if i left him , because its 3 years ago, he wont be interested now apparently.....ive said i'm moving on mine but not even mentioned the street name, let alone the number and post code and i have my privacy settings as high as you can!

YADNBU!

Grandparents shouldn't be allowed on facebook!

diamondsandtiaras · 15/07/2010 14:23

YADNBU!! That's a totally stupid thing for your grandad to have done. Put your foot down until they remove it.

PandaEis · 15/07/2010 14:25

i would be really aswell!! YADNBU!!

i would insist on them removing the message and would probably get a massive grump on and not speak to them for ages!!

i think you can report someone to facebook for breach of privacy too so i would say basically you remove it or i will report you and have your FB page closed down!!

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 15/07/2010 14:25

YADNBU. Can you report it to facebook and get them to remove it? Or does it have to be your mum/grandad that delete it?

thumbwitch · 15/07/2010 14:25

Oh for the love of God - how stupid can they be??? YAsoNBU - they should THINK! Shame you can't report them or something - and then to call you SILLY! Well they won't think that if anything does happen to your DS, but it's no comfort to think about that at all!

Tell them that if anything does happen you;ll have the police on them for conspiracy or something (I'm sure that wouldn't happen but it might frighten them enought to take it down)

MrsC2010 · 15/07/2010 14:25

I have a feeling FB should be able to remove the post in these circumstances?

scanty · 15/07/2010 14:27

What were they thinking? I'd be furious.

GeekOfTheWeek · 15/07/2010 14:27

YANBU

I hate facebook.

LimaCharlie · 15/07/2010 14:29

YADNBU

LutyensCBA · 15/07/2010 14:31

YANBU!!

What are they thinking? Even if you don't have an abusive ex to worry about, this is such a terrible breach of your privacy! Now people you don't even know exist, and who are on your gp's friends list, know exactly where you live

GeekotWeek, I hate Facebook too.

rubbersoul · 15/07/2010 14:31

How bloody stupid! YADNBU

rubbersoul · 15/07/2010 14:31

And INSIST on it being taken down

IMoveTheStars · 15/07/2010 14:32

Have you contacted FB/reported the post? FB should remove it for you if you ask them.

thumbwitch · 15/07/2010 14:38

Report both your grandad and your mum for breach of privacy, if such a thing is possible (I didn't know it was, I've only just joined) - get both their pages closed down until they agree to remove it! Damn stupid.

hanreeoak · 15/07/2010 14:39

YANBU, That it is so bad, I would be furious if my address was put on facebook. I would contact Facebook if I was you.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 15/07/2010 15:38

I think you should contact facebook directly too - I'd be surprised if they wouldn't take the post down, given your circumstances.

And it is not up to your relatives to decide when you should feel secure about the world and his wife knowing your address - that is up to you, and you alone.

hairytriangle · 15/07/2010 17:23

If they don't remove it contact facebook directly.
