YANBU after all your wearing it and you're a girl and quite frankly it doesn't really matter

TanteRose · 14/07/2010 14:00

of course you should use it! the baby is not going to know the difference....

what does your DH think will happen if you use a pink sling? you might get a few people assuming its a girl, but that happens anyway.

Easywriter · 14/07/2010 14:01

Just do it.

I have people talking about my "lovely little boy" even when my DD is wearing a pink dress!! I kid you not!

It doesn't matter does it? (And why is it always dad's and GP's that seem to care about such things?)

Or buy some dye!

Firawla · 14/07/2010 14:08

i dont think it would matter, yanbu
unless you can get same one in a different colour then sell the others you dont prefer and buy another colour of it if dh is that bothered

wigglemama · 14/07/2010 14:10

Agree with easywriter YANBU. My daughter is also constantly called a boy. I wouldn't think twice about carrying my dd in a blue sling so it should work the same way. If you like it, go ahead and use it!

Lostymyheart · 14/07/2010 14:11

Your dh is being silly.

pranma · 14/07/2010 14:12

Dye it scarlet

biddysmama · 14/07/2010 14:13

sorry, i have another colour of the same style, its the pattern and colours that i like

thats the same as mine... i have a red flowery one as well but apparently thats ok

i carried ds4 in a pink and purple sling, no one ever said anything about it and i would have given them a face if they did!

but your dh is giving you the go ahead to buy another sling!

Psammead · 14/07/2010 15:12

Of course YANBU - does your DH think he might catch 'the gay'?

Baby wont care. Passersby in the street may think you have a little girl in there, but that's the worst that will happen. And passersby do not need to know the sex of your baby!

Totally do not understand the pink/blue divide.

Have also had a lot of people asking me if DD is a boy - I just correct them with a smile and that's that. Would do the same for a boy.

lazarusb · 14/07/2010 16:53

I'd attach flowers and sequins on it too

going · 14/07/2010 16:56

Use it, it's lovely!

I bought DS a floral carseat as I loved the pattern so much, knew he was a boy also knew it really didn't matter especailly as it was a first carseat!

whatname · 14/07/2010 17:13

it's you that's wearing it, not the baby!!

Honeydragon · 14/07/2010 17:16

I wore a pink sling with ds, dh said he wouldn't wear it , but understood that I wanted to wear something nice. Dh wore the black one when he carried ds.

fuzzypicklehead · 14/07/2010 17:22

I have e slings that I use with my DD: 1 rainbow, 1 black & grey, 1 blue. She has yet to complain!
