Ok, maybe IABU a bit but still!

The lollypop lady at school today came over and started quizzing me on loads of stuff about the fertility treatment I received, what specialist I was under and wanted to know the ins and outs of it all.

My sister had apparently told her all about me, how I have PCOS and had to have fertility treatment, how hard it was for me, and how I was suicidal at some point

The lady is having some fertility problems herself, and I do feel for her as it is an awful time or anyone who is desperate for a child.

I don't mind discussing this with people I know to some extent, but a perfect stranger! I just felt slightly uncomfortable having to discuss it all, as it was so hard at the time for me. I was also annoyed at my sister telling lots of personal stuff to this lady, even my mam doesn't know half of it!

YANBU, go and give your sister a talking to about trust and maturity and keeping your damn mouth shut.

YANBU what is it about fertility pregnancy and child birth that makes people think that they can quiz you about your personal life and touch you?? No one would dream of asking a random bloke at the pub if he was having errectile problems andif so what was he taking!!!! nor patting it to see if it was awake. The whole repoductive process really does attract a lot of attention, having said that part of me does think that people are generally curious and that the heart is in the right place, even if the foot is firmly lodged in their mouth

Why does it bother you? I'd be touched if someone had asked about my Ashermans and my journey getting pregnant. And I'd like to help someone else. In fact, someone my husband met at a party mentioned something similar, they talked about me and my Ashermans and recommended doctors and such.

I returned from a posting abroad and bumped into her at my neighbours and she had an 8-day old baby. So in a way, I'd helped a 'perfect stranger'.

So on that basis, YABU. So ner.

As you feel uncomfortable then yanbu but she's trying to get help & must be going through a very tough time

Hmm.. I was going to say YANBU as I'm also going through fertility treatment and hate talking to anyone about it EXCEPT other people going through the same thing. They have been a life saver at times, but do understand the privacy aspect..

I think I'm more annoyed at my sister sharing such intimate details about my personal life, especially about the suicidal feelings.

I don't mind offering anyone any information about what I went through, as long as I know them even in passing. But for a perfet stranger to ask me such intimate questions is a bit uncomfortable. I don't know this person, and for them to know so much more than me is unnerving.

I've given her lots of information btw, I didn't shun her or ignore her.

Sorry, I'm just needing to vent as my sister is heavily pregnant so can't really have a huge go at her.

Otch, the treatment I had was 7 years ago, but thanks. I've had 2 DS's as a result and had a surpise third DS since then
