Not to go in work until 11?

I have booked 3 hours off for my dd sports day - unpaid. Sports day has been cancelled as its raining, being as i wont start getting paid until 11 i dont see the point in going in yet. btw the accounts woman has already processed my hours for this week as she is on holiday, so i had deducted them already.
I will probably get a few arsey comments from work for not going in earlier, but im enjoying my cuppa and rich tea biscuits too much to care!

why should you go in and not get paid? Don't go until 11.01 and stuff the lot of them!

YANBU. Don't tell them it was cancelled. Or say you didn't know it was cancelled till you got there so it was too late to come in as normal. You're right that having deducted the hours already, you won't get them back even if you do go in.

Enjoy your brew!

No need to feel guilty, you are not being paid, but you probably have the same problem when they rearrange it for another day!

Say you don't think you are allowed to come in as you won't be insured if you aren't being paid, like if you are signed off sick. It's not true, but it sounds plausible, and by the time they've checked you'll be at work!
