To wonder where the hell is my shopping and/or money?

Last night I checked my bank account online, £105.00 is the balance. Fine, I'll do an online shop at asda to arrive tomorrow.
Total shopping comes to £80.76.

Shopping does not arrive today and when I call to enquire why, I am told that there were insufficent funds in my account.

I then check online balance,£24.24 suggesting that between last night and now £80.76 has been debited.
Phoned bank to make enquiries and indeed Asda have taken the amount and bank gave me the authorisation number.I ask if it is possible that it is a pending payment, bank says no, as it has come off the balance then the payment has went through.

Phone Asda back, not helpful in the slightest, They say that they have not recieved the money, I tell them I have an authorisation code from my bank and an available balance which says otherwise. They say they will look into it and call me back at midday tomorrow.

So I now have only £24,Very little food, live in the back of beyond so no shops, will have to take two buses to a tesco tomorrow to see how far my £24 will stretch for baby food, milk and wipes.

Where is my money if it's not in my bank and Asda say they don't have it????

I use Asda online all the time, I have never had a problem with them. I doubt this thread will help you get a refund faster.

Also as far as I know Ocado don't deliver in Scotland, and there are only 3 Waitrose stores.

CaptainKirksNipples · 12/07/2010 20:28

I get a big monthly shop at Asda and then get my daily and weekly essentials in the High Street in town, I use my local butcher and fruit and veg man, I feel better not giving money to Tesco the evil empire

Saltire · 12/07/2010 20:30

I too have had probelms with their ghost payment. First time it happened they debied 2 payments for £75+, one for the actual shopping and one a ghost payemtn, had to wait a week for it to go back into my account. lovely bloke at HBoS told me it's common with Asda

nannynick · 12/07/2010 20:30

Amazon are getting into the online grocery delivery game. Wonder if they will be able to deliver what the customer orders and process the payment without an issue.

dom_asdaPR 20:27 12-Jul-10 has tweeted:
"I've asked the manager of @asdaserviceteam to look into it. Hopefully it can be resolved amicably first thing 2mro"

So that's some progress with luck.

AlCrowley · 12/07/2010 20:45

Retweeted PeachyClair for you

FakePlasticTrees · 12/07/2010 20:48

I hope this gets sorted for you. I also keep getting stuff from Asda trying to get me to shop with them, but I think this has convinced me not to bother.

Tesco delivery is good too, if they are only 15 min drive from you i guess they'll be able to deliver to you from now onwards.

nannynick · 12/07/2010 20:52

Lets see what the manager of Asda service team does tomorrow. With luck they will have some answers.

I just don't get why they didn't call you to say that there was an issue with payment and it would not be coming. I don't feel it should be up to the customer to wait until delivery time then phone to find out why the delivery has not arrived.

chaostrulyreigns · 12/07/2010 20:52

Had a response from ASDA:

"I appreciate you taking the time to email us.

I?m sorry that you?re not happy with service you?ve been receiving regarding your home shopping orders. I understand that this must be annoying.

We are interested to hear your suggestion and comments and I have passed it on to the relevant Team. Should you need any further assistance please let us know."

Well that's helpful.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 12/07/2010 20:54

ASDA have spamed you chaos!

funkychunkymunky · 12/07/2010 20:58

I can't believe that they have charged you and not delivered! It wouldn't hurt them to bring your shopping and charge you once refunded. Although now I think they should bring you the shopping for free by way of apology.

Shame on you ASDA!

I will not be EVER shopping with ASDA.

chaostrulyreigns · 12/07/2010 21:03

Hi bellede what do you mean?

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 12/07/2010 21:04

It's the standard reply (like an out of office reply), I bet they have not even read your email, it's therefore, spam.

pissedrightoff · 12/07/2010 21:09

Nannynick- They had no response as to why I was'nt contacted, but did agree this was unacceptable........slightly better than the first response which was 'Asda are not obligated to contact you if your payment is refused' grrrr

Awwwwww Dom; so sweet of you. So pissedrightoff can expect her money refunded, a £200 gratis grocery shop, a years supply of nappies, a bunch of flowers and a sincere nice apology(?)
Asda have mucked her about awfully we understand.

chaostrulyreigns · 12/07/2010 21:16

I'm wondering when Asda are going to ask MN to set up a focus group?

Along the lines of Pampers - who asked us for a focus group with copious freebies after they were slated on here.

Or a major influx of advertising on here?

Cyioc, moi?

chaostrulyreigns · 12/07/2010 21:17

cynic - duh!

pissedrightoff · 12/07/2010 21:17

I'd hire ya caramel

MisSalLaneous · 12/07/2010 21:19

My bet is on Asda's legal team to start sending threatening e-mails to MNHQ to get this thread pulled - but they will refund pissedrightoff first and then try and paint themselves in a good light. Most likely an admin clerk will be blamed for company policy.

howmanykidsinmygarden · 12/07/2010 21:19

chaostrulyreigns, that's a automated spam reply, a definite 'we don't give a toss, but will send this protocol email out asap in the hope you are to thick to notice' kinda email.. Almost like salt in the wound in these circumstances.

Pissedrightoff, I really feel for you, sooo, after your story I'm another MNer that will be boycotting cuntingasda

ha Matthew Wright steal this bloomin thread!

Still for the way you've been treated though.

caramelwaffle · 12/07/2010 21:34

pissedrightoff - I'll waive my five boxes of nappies 40% fee this time

Oh but seriously - Tis ' ASDA who should hire me non?

AnyFuleKno · 12/07/2010 22:20

Got the same reply on twitter from dom_asdapr. Good luck pissedrightoff, I'll be watching how asda deal this with interest as I imagine will many others

Mermaidspam · 12/07/2010 22:22

Also RT'd on Twitter. Fingers crossed some good comes of it.
