To wonder where the hell is my shopping and/or money?

Last night I checked my bank account online, £105.00 is the balance. Fine, I'll do an online shop at asda to arrive tomorrow.
Total shopping comes to £80.76.

Shopping does not arrive today and when I call to enquire why, I am told that there were insufficent funds in my account.

I then check online balance,£24.24 suggesting that between last night and now £80.76 has been debited.
Phoned bank to make enquiries and indeed Asda have taken the amount and bank gave me the authorisation number.I ask if it is possible that it is a pending payment, bank says no, as it has come off the balance then the payment has went through.

Phone Asda back, not helpful in the slightest, They say that they have not recieved the money, I tell them I have an authorisation code from my bank and an available balance which says otherwise. They say they will look into it and call me back at midday tomorrow.

So I now have only £24,Very little food, live in the back of beyond so no shops, will have to take two buses to a tesco tomorrow to see how far my £24 will stretch for baby food, milk and wipes.

Where is my money if it's not in my bank and Asda say they don't have it????

any news on that delivery yet?

nannynick · 13/07/2010 17:33

So now that Asda are delivering the shopping and still sticking with "it's not our fault". Whose fault is it? Not the customers that's clear. So is it the payment processor? Should the FSA be investigating what has happened with regard to the payment processor?

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 17:34

27 minutes to go and no shopping yet.

That's a good idea nannynick, if this happens alot then someone is earning the interest off the money.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 13/07/2010 17:36

PRO, check the MSF page, rhubarb sends her best wishes

JustKeepSwimming · 13/07/2010 17:39

Hope it arrives soon PRO

Oh, forgot to say I had a phone call from Asda this morning asking me to phone back re problems with my payment (I immediately thought of this thread!) my credit card got declined so i paid by debit and all was fine.

Then the bank's fraud dept rang - turns out they've been experiencing some fraudulent payment problems with Asda (not Asda's fault i hasten to make clear!) so that's where the problem came from.

Just more problems & hassle from something that's meant to make life easier.

I seen that Belle, clearly the the voice of reason among many uncompassionate sods.

Their posting seemed to have stopped dead after that did'nt it.

Still no shopping.

Excellent post from rhubarb over on MSE. Gets it in a nutshell.

JustKeepSwimming - I get this all the time if I try and make payments where I'm not physically there to key in a pin number. If I try and pay over the phone (even things I've paid before) it very often gets declined and is highly embarrassing. I never know when it's going to happen and it can be a real pain. Got nothing to do with lack of funds (I always check balances before I try to pay), but just their security system. When I ring the bank (or credit card company - whichever card I've used) they say oh yeah we blocked it because we are concerned about fraudulent activity. They then tell me to try again in 10 minutes and it will go through. It can be a right pain sometimes.

I download music from itunes all the time, but they even contacted me once about an album I bought saying it was unusual activity on the account and they wanted to check. Dunno if they are checking my musical tastes as well?

Whoo! Now here's hoping the food is all in date and accounted for!

Tomatefarcie · 13/07/2010 18:00

I had my Asda delivery today, and told the driver to tell his managers to have a look on here. He said he was pleased that something was finally happening, that their working condition were appalling, and he was definitely not surprised when I said some of my stuff had a day left on the use-by-date.

I had been shopping at Asda for years.

Not any more.

Hope your shopping is complete (and by that I mean, with cubic meters of nappies, toys, treats and vouchers).

"I wonder what percentage of us will be using Adsa come the next mumsnet census?"

If anyone from MNHQ is reading, then when making any series of questions, be sure to add boxes for comments to be able to answer 'Why did it score as high / low as that ?'

Allows for rant well-reasoned comments to be included.

NetworkGuy · 13/07/2010 18:02

Did they include a Sunday paper (more important, did they charge for a Sunday paper) ?

PaulaMummyKnowsBest · 13/07/2010 18:04

was it all correct?

ruthosaurus · 13/07/2010 18:11

Woop! Hope it's all there. If not, my offer to stage a sit in at head office stands.

Am at Warren for apologising for past snidiness: I had a line of killer insults lined up and ready to roll.

Oh, am on edge of seat... I'd hate to be the delivery driver of the order is missing any items.

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 18:13

Hello- All seems correct and good length of dates on the fresh produce etc, I'll check it as I put it away.

They did include a bunch of flowers 'to say sorry' The driver was an absolute gent, actually he was'nt a driver but one of their security team that had been sent down from Elgin. Very nice man.

No newspaper though, back once packed away shopping. Will be nice to see my fruit bowl full again and have a cup of tea, DH not a tea drinker so did not think to get this in the essentials he got from local shop.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 13/07/2010 18:15

That's really good. Don't forget the refund for the calls/extra groceries from the local shop.

SagacityNell · 13/07/2010 18:15

I hope its not SUndays shopping that has been left in a pile somewhere
