To wonder where the hell is my shopping and/or money?

Last night I checked my bank account online, £105.00 is the balance. Fine, I'll do an online shop at asda to arrive tomorrow.
Total shopping comes to £80.76.

Shopping does not arrive today and when I call to enquire why, I am told that there were insufficent funds in my account.

I then check online balance,£24.24 suggesting that between last night and now £80.76 has been debited.
Phoned bank to make enquiries and indeed Asda have taken the amount and bank gave me the authorisation number.I ask if it is possible that it is a pending payment, bank says no, as it has come off the balance then the payment has went through.

Phone Asda back, not helpful in the slightest, They say that they have not recieved the money, I tell them I have an authorisation code from my bank and an available balance which says otherwise. They say they will look into it and call me back at midday tomorrow.

So I now have only £24,Very little food, live in the back of beyond so no shops, will have to take two buses to a tesco tomorrow to see how far my £24 will stretch for baby food, milk and wipes.

Where is my money if it's not in my bank and Asda say they don't have it????

Rafi · 13/07/2010 13:45

Just emailed Asda to point out what kind of PR disaster they're getting themselves into - it's pathetic! Hope they see sense soon PRO.

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 13:45

wonder what Ocado mean by happy to help.......give her some free food do you think? Or just give her the oportunity to spend her money there instead?

Fontella · 13/07/2010 13:47

I am not exactly what you'd call flush but I'd be happy to send her the whole £80.76 (provided she doesn't spend it in frikken Asda!! ), I'm that mad about it.

I just can't get my head around the fact that they just don't give a shit. Unbelievable.

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 13:48

Are there any shops who accept paypal? Probably not.

LittleBoxes · 13/07/2010 13:48

Dom the Asda PR person is the '2nd cousin of Aston from JLS', according to his Twitter profile

diamondsandtiaras · 13/07/2010 13:51

Boots accepts paypal payments.....nappies and baby food?

weblette · 13/07/2010 13:51

So PRO should expect a signed t-shirt too then at the very least

MisSalLaneous · 13/07/2010 13:53

The CEO of the company (well, his PA with his company card) could do a bloody order herself, pay for it, get it delivered, and it would still cost them less than the loss in custom this might lead to.

I think they're trying not to set a precedent. I think they're making a bad business move. But hey, I'm just a lowly mum, so what do I know?

NormalityBites · 13/07/2010 13:53

Just read the whole thread and it keeps on and on updating! ASDA lost my custom 2 years ago when they didn't bring my order, didn't ring me to tell me, and put me through to automated line every time I rang, so there was noone to complain to. They rang me a day late, when I could not arrange to be in to receive the delivery, which they eventually sent three days late and I swear it had been in the van that whole time, most was off or out of date. I complained to be given a £10 voucher off my next shop. NEVER HAPPENED.

I heart Ocado.

EricNorthmansmistress · 13/07/2010 13:53

PRO I'm serious - I will help organise a paypal fund if it will help, please don't be too proud to accept! A quid each from a few people should sort you out. You can set up an anonymous email address and link it to your paypal account. Please say the word if you are in need, we don't often get the chance to do something properly helpful in life and I'm sure people would like to.

Comewhinewithme · 13/07/2010 13:55

I'm not sure how to organise it but as I said before I want to help is blooming unfair what TWATSDA are doing.

landrover · 13/07/2010 13:56

i am another mumsnetter, asda we are still waiting for you to sort this

veyron · 13/07/2010 13:59

come on ASDA you aren't doing yourselves any favours, I think this is going to blow up in your faces - DO THE RIGHT THING!

EricNorthmansmistress · 13/07/2010 13:59

I've added my anon email to my paypal. Now if the OP would do the same I will post my email on here and anyone who wants to can send a quid. OP can email me and I'll send funds to her email later today so she can place an order with Boots.

Offer is there and genuine.

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 14:00

Honestly am not being proud, we are going to manage fine now til Friday, used my remaining £24 in tesco this morning to get baby food and milk and wipes.
I do appreciate the offers though, thank you so much everyone.

landrover · 13/07/2010 14:01

pissedrightoff · 13/07/2010 14:01

You are all amazing, do you know that?

Comewhinewithme · 13/07/2010 14:03

Come on let us help even if you get enough to get some chocolates and a nice bottle of wine it will make us feel better .

AxisofEvil · 13/07/2010 14:03

I can't believe they haven't sorted it by now. If this had been Ocado or Waitrose this would have been dealt with ages ago.

OP - was the "its the bank" from yesterday or repeated to you today?
