I wanna do something fun. Just for me.

Friend has suggested a local all-female roller derby group. I have had a look at the website and I am tempted...

But AIBU?

Should I take up cross stitch or knitting instead? I am not taking the piss, a friend of mine is a very keen knitter and she is col as fuck

What do you do for fun?

Can you remember what fun is? I am struggling...

I used to make cross stitch samplers of profanities and obscene pictures.

Similar to the ones I saw recently in a gallery on sale for £1000 apiece.

Nemofish · 11/07/2010 19:20

I will remember that whenever I see your name now tethersend

diamondsandtiaras · 11/07/2010 19:36

P.S where is roller derby group? Sounds like fun!!

ravenAK · 11/07/2010 19:37

A mate of mine does this in Leeds (so no doubt you'll be taking each other out before long!). She loves it. Too rough for me...

matumble · 11/07/2010 19:38

I think it looks brilliant, why are you hesitant?

8Ace · 11/07/2010 19:38

I have my name down to join our local roller derby team and I already have a friend that does it. Not for the fainthearted though it is a rough contact sport so you need to be hard as nails.

AbiAbi · 11/07/2010 19:45

What is a roller derby team?

stripeyknickersspottysocks · 11/07/2010 19:46

I used to play roller derby. Its lots of fun and will keep you very fit. But it is a full contact sport, you will be covered in bruises.

Merrylegs · 11/07/2010 19:49

Ooh ooh you need to watch the film Whip It to get you in the mood. Good luck!

I'll join with you Nemofish! Looks fab, bit like rugby on wheels! Might have to be next year though as can't see roller derbying being on the list of suggested exercise routines during pregancy! boooo!

Nemofish · 11/07/2010 21:05

I want to join our local team but DH thinks i am being ridiculous.
I love roller skating though.

stripeyknickersspottysocks · 11/07/2010 21:40

Mine was Anna Phylactic

expatinscotland · 11/07/2010 21:41

Oh no! Seriously?

Eeeww. It's a bit trashy, like wrestling sort of trashy.

Sorry, but there you go.

Nemofish · 11/07/2010 21:47

Feel my wrath you bitch!

stripeyknickersspottysocks · 11/07/2010 21:49

Apparantly its got a high propotion of lesbian/bisexual participants. DH used to find that very amusing for some reason.

All the girls I used to skate with were very gothic/emo. Dyed black/blue/purple hair, black lipstick, white foundation, ripped fishnets, lots of tattoos and piercings.

ShadeofViolet · 11/07/2010 21:52

You could be like Rollergirl in Boogie Nights
