following on from this thread DH went to GP to sort out a prescription for gluten free stuff. he got told he can't have any because they have no record of him being diagnosed as coeliac! WTF?!
this was at a different surgery, different town, about 5 years ago. the test results did get lost in the shambles transit but they were positive for coeliac, obviously, and he was able to join the coeliac society by getting a Dr's reference etc - so it's not like he's just making it up...
GP today told him he'll have to have another biopsy/endoscopy to prove he has it. DH understandably said he doesn't want to (he had a colonoscopy a few years ago and the sedation/pain relief didn't work) - so GP replied that they can give him another blood test so he'll have to start eating gluten beforehand
eeeerm no, don't think so, he's not voluntarily going to put himself through that pain, thanks. he'll contact our old surgery to try and sort it but FFS! how to these things just disappear off the records?
