was just wondering if anyone else had heard that babys teeth can be rotten in the gums if on neocate?? my ds is 11 weeks old and has been put on neocate due to cmpi, which was causing severe reflux. the milk seems to have helped so far, but im reluctant to keep him on it for any length of time if its going to rot his teeth. doctor wants him to stay on it untill hes at least 1.

DD1 was on Neocate (severe reflux) from 3 months til 3.5yrs. Her teeth are fine (she went to the dentist last week). I told dentist and she suggested a checkup every 6 months but no treatment has been needed. Ijust made sure i cleaned after milk at bedtime.

Hope that puts your mind at rest?

DD (2) has also been on neocate since she was 8mths old with no (as yet) damage to teeth.

We have also been recommended to go to the dentist slightly more often than normal but nothing has been noticed yet

Oh dear. DS is still on Neocate at 2.3 years and often will take a bottle to bed. I have tried desperately to get him to have it before bed, clean teeth and water to bed, but it doesn't work.
