Rash on face - what do you think?

DS (2) has a rash on his face. He used to be allergic to dairy and eggs, but has outgrown both. He is allergic to cat and has eczema and probably asthma.

From probably last week some time, his chin/round his mouth has looked a bit spotty - little red spots. I didn't think much of it, but then on Wednesday he was sent home from nursery because he had about 10 red spots on his tummy and they thought it was the start of chickenpox. The spots didn't develop and so I took him to the GP who said definitely not chicken pox, possibly part of his eczema. They have now gone.

The rash on his face seems a bit worse today - I have taken a picture and put it on my profile. What do you think? I gave him piriton about 10 minutes before the picture was taken but it doesn't seem to have made a difference. It isn't bothering him at all, so its not itchy.

Could this be a reaction to milk again? It looks pretty similar but he's been having cooked dairy for more than a year and cows milk on his cereal since February (generally UHT but sometimes fresh too). If not, how do you go about working what could be causing it?

TIA.

Hi, my 4yo daughter had a rash similar to that last week. she was fine in herself, just spotty. it started on her chest and spread evverywhere, including her face. The doctor said it was a virus, and it cleared itself up after about 5 days. My 3mth old son had the rash but only on his chest for about 2 days.

hth,
Bec xx

It got better with piriton so possibly it is an allergy. No idea what to though.

Strawberry just wanted an update really as my little one has the exact same thing. Interested to hear whether you think it is a reaction to something (has it cleared up?) or in fact a virus? My LO has intolerances to diary, eggs, nuts, wheat (really bad to wheat), sesame and oats. The spots/rash are only really around the mouth and under the nose and seem to get worse as the day goes on. He has had it for nearly 2 weeks. I was wondering if it is dribble rash (he is 17 mths) or possible traces of food on my hands that he is intolerant to. Interested to hear an update from you on how your little one is and whether it has cleared up?

Sorry, only just saw this. The rash on his chest did clear up but he still keeps getting red/spotty cheeks and chin. I think its a reaction but I'm not sure what to.
