Allergies and pregnancy

I don't have any major allergies just things like eyes swelling if I'm near cats, hayfever, couple of medication/food things which tend to result in itching /rashes/slight swelling.

I usually just take a couple of piriton and they go.

Was discussing hayfever with MW and she has said not to take any tablets as they aren't safe in pregnancy. Am going to go & see GP so will ask him what alternatives there are but just wondering what to do if I do react to something?

Any suggestions?

You could try seeing a Homeopath for hayfever etc. Also for piriton type reactions, itching, swelling, rashes etc, homeopathic remedy Apis Mel in 30c can work well. I usually adopt the belt and braces approach of having the appropriate conventional medicine to hand as well.

(and I know Homeopathy has had bad press but as with thousands of others in the country, it works for me and my family...)

That's a good idea actually. Hayfever & homeopathy should go together as it should work with it. We used to do the local honey thing for dd2s and that helped but now dh bees died and they are difficult to get hold of atm. Not that he has time...
