Could this be eczema

Hi all

My 4 year old dd last week had a reaction to some sun cream that she was previously fine with, I sprayed it all over her neck, shoulders and arms but only her arms came out in raised red bumps that started to spread so I washed it off and made her stay indoors for an hour to cool it down, two days later it had disappeared.

Last night she seemed to develop the same rash even though no cream had been applied and it was in the same place, this carried on and this morning seemed to have calmed down but then after playing in the sun for half an hour this afternoon she had very red, raised bumps again just on her arms.

Can this be eczema? There is no history of her having it before but can't think it is a food allergy as she hasn't tried anything new.

Any advice gratefully received or any ideas about how to find out more about what this could be...

Depends on what the rash is like. If its small pin prick like rash, it will probably be heat rash. Eczema is more like very dry skin that has cracked and split and can sometimes bleed,

It could be heat rash if she's been out in the sun. Creams and lotions make it worse cos they seal in the moisture so the reaction might have been that. Eczema tends to be quite dry, flaky skin as well so if it's not dry it might not be that. With the sun that we've been having I'd reckon on heat rash meself.
