Has any one found their child with allergies or themselves seems to be ill all the time either with allergies or viruses bugs etc -Maybe to do with a lowered immune system?

K has been ill almost every week or at least every month for the last year and it is getting tiring and in the way of family life and we need to know in which direction to go to sort it out.

hi,
my daughter has a type 1 peanut allergy and also has a "viral wheeze" (asthma!) and always seems to be offside with a cold or bad chest....every couple of weeks sadly.
she has vitamins every day and a healthy diet, always try and let her have exercise too so if you get any good tips i will be looking too!!

How old is your child? My DS was a bit like this (and often the colds would cause asthma), but touch wood has been much better for the last year or so and in fact the only thing he's had since June was a brief gastro. He's now 6.5, but up to the age of 4 or 5 he was ill loads.

well weta i hope this is the case for us too, my little one is 3 and i have heard that sometimes illnesses have 7 year cycles so kind of hoping she grows out of it all

Yep, same here. DS has multiple allergies and has been constantly ill since well before Xmas.

Until DD started nursery, I would have said no - she has rarely been ill at all. But since starting nursery at the end of january, she has had one cold/cough/ear infection after another. I'm not sure this is related to having multiple allergies though, rather spending time with other little disease carriers!
