20wks with mystery angry rash on breasts. Any ideas? Even the doctors are confused!

Pleeeeeease help me!! I have a seriousl angry and raised red rash spreading across my chest and breasts (nowhere else on my body). I've been to the doctor's several times who believe it's an allergy but are not sure (we can't think of anything different we've used or consumed which might cause this). I'm using Hydrocortizone cream, E45 and Piriton when absolutely desperate (which is most of the time). It is unbearable, burning and itching at the same time. Has anyone had this in pregnancy before or anything similar? If so, how do you treat it?!

I've suffer from eczema but never anything this bad before. It's so localised too. Literally on and around each breast, between them and up the chest. Nowhere else at all.

Could be PUPPPS (20 weeks pregnant?) In which case Dandelion Root capsules 2 three times a day...?

I've just found photos of the PUPPPS rash and it is exactly the same but mine is on the breasts. It looks as though most women get this rash on their abdomen and thighs.

I got a similar response to this rash when I went to my doctor... 'Hmm that's really weird'.

Have Diprobase too for my eczema. Will give it a try....

I've never experienced anything as itchy and painful as this!

Makes me want to cry in frustration as not sleeping.

doesn't sound like an allergic rash but if its PUPPS the cause is unknown. This is pretty forlorn hope stuff but if you're desperate try the things that probably boost your immune system. Probiotics are unlikely to do any harm and if taken in the later stages of pregnancy seem to protect against passing allergies on to babies. They might help. Live yoghurt is an easy way to get them.

Oily fish has alot of omega3 fatty acids. They help brain development in your child and are good for a lot of skin conditions. Babies get priority so your stores may be depleted. If you hate fish flaxseed oil (swallowed) is not as good but would help.

You hav to be careful not to get too much vitamin A in pregnancy but beta carrotene (think orange veg) is an immune booster.

Thanks to everyone who responded to this thread... just to let you know that I've solved the problem...

I had an allergic to the saliva of my 1 yr old niece (who had vomited an hour before wiping saliva all over my chest). We think it was the stomach acid aggravating my eczema. It started out as a small rash but was made worse by the fact that I am apparantly allergic to E45 too, which is what was prescribed to me to treat the small rash by practically bathing in the stuff.

Unfortunately, the more I put on, the bigger and angrier the rash got...

A couple of days using nothing but calamine lotion did the trick!

Phew, thank God it wasn't PUPPPS!
