Milk Free Pancake Recipe?

ilovemydogandmrobama · 14/08/2009 22:48

Was going to title it, 'dairy free' but am somewhat confused whether eggs are dairy or not DS (17 months) is OK with eggs, but not with cow milk, butter, etc.

Have tried the Delia pancake recipe substituting Oatly Cream/Oatly milk, but it was a bit odd.

Any help is greatly appreciated...

I always just used water.

eggs, flour and water. It is perfectly fine.

ABitWrong · 15/08/2009 00:17

I just use SR flour and soya milk andit works just fine.

We use oatly with delia's recipe and think it works better than with cows milk!

And no, eggs aren't dairy.

ahola · 16/08/2009 22:36

egg and dairy-free pancakes.... so you mean flour then?

Shellseeker · 16/08/2009 22:44

I did ask a friend about whether eggs were dairy a few years ago when we had a similar problem with DD. when she pointed out that cows don't lay eggs!

Turniphead1 · 16/08/2009 22:49

This is the dairy and egg free recipe we use for pancakes...

Oh, good point about cows not laying eggs!

Rather unfortunately, DS can't have soya and his Dietician seems to think that Rice Milk is not a good idea.

Can't: I tried half Oatly Cream/Oatly milk and the texture was bizarre. Did you replace milk with Oatly milk?

Turniphead, could you please try and link again?

lol at ahola!

Yes, replaced the milk with just oatly milk. Oatly cream I can imagine would be a bit bizarre.
