Getting Referral for possible allergy

We are having problems with our 4 mo DD feeding, and suspect an intolerance or other digestive problem.

We want to see a private paediatrician through our insurance but the GP didn't know of any locally so just gave me a list of local private hospitals, none of whom seem to do paediatrics

So does anyone have any advice on how to go about finding a private paediatrician, and how would I know if they were specialist in the right area when I am unsure exactly what the problem is?!

Had similar problem with ds1 with eczema and ended up using NHS as it was easier and quick. If you're heart is set on going private then contact local NHS hospital, find out names Paeds, contact their secretaries and ask if they do private work.

Allergy UK recommended us a paediatric allergist for our area.

Ah, thanks Strawberry will try Allergy UK.

We have been through the NHS and basically got the answer that since he is gaining weight (though quite slowly) on the no. 1 milk he can't have an allergy.

They might be right but DD is in a lot of digestive pain so I'd like to think there might be a different milk or something out there that would make her more comfortable.
