Could it be a strawberry allergy?

My kids (dd2.8 and ds1.3) woke up this morning with an obvious allergic reaction to something as their faces were red and puffy and they both had rashes down their necks and top of chest and back. DD had a bowl of strawberries last night and ds (picky eater) had one at his lips but really didn't swallow any I don't think. He has a nut allergy and potentially other allergies (still waiting for results of blood test from hosp)and his reaction has been more severe. After 2 doses of antihistamine today there is still no real improvement. They were both out in the sun yesterday from 4 - 5pm but had factor 50 on so I don't think that could have caused it. Any ideas?

I thought allergic reactions to food happened almost instantly?

Could they be allergic to the sun cream? My dd can't use quite a few different ones (even those that are supposedly hypoallergenic!!) without coming up in a raised, red, itchy rash.

I think now that it might be prickly heat. Don't think it can be the sun cream as dd didn't have any on her arms and legs as she was covered by clothes and now has rash on both places. Any ideas on what to do about prickly heat??
