Reaction to New Surcare?

My two year old has had extensive eczema since he was four months old. We've used Surcare for years and have had no problems with it. However on Saturday DS2 came up in inicredible hives and despite much piriton he ended up in A&E when his face started swelling up too. We've never experienced anything like this before.

I've since noticed that Surcare (laundry powder form) has changed its formula and is now more concentrated ,according to Surcare's helpline, has new ingredients in it. We've only had this new Surcare in the house for a week and so I'm wondering if there is a connection. Has anyone else had any issues with the new Surcare? His reaction may have been caused by something else but I thought it might be worth seeing if anyone else has had any similar experiences.

any idea when they changed it?
did they change the packaging at all?

the packaging has changed and the box now comes in a smaller size - no highlighting of new ingredients though.

I think I must have the old stuff then as it looks the same to me - standard box does 10 washes

We use surcare liquid as both me and DD have eczema, and haven't noticed any change... maybe try the liquid instead? Sounds like a very extreme reaction to a washing powder though, more like a possible allergy to something that would have caused a more instant reaction - any new food he ate, or allergens he came into contact with just before the reaction? (sorry, I'm sure you've thought about all this!)

oh, thats a pain. We only use the liquid one though but stocked up on that when it was on offer. I hope no changes are made to that. Yeah try the liquid one, so did you explain to the helpline then, I take it you did. Best us all complain if it ends up being a problem.
