Hay Fever?

It's only the end of February, and I have never had it before, but I swear I have hay fever.

My eyes are streaming, as is my nose, as soon as I step over the door on the school run.
My eyes are now itchy and sore, but I definetely don't have a cold.

A friend reckoned that there is tree pollen about now, but I thought it was to early for that.

Any ideas please before I scratch my eyes out and buy out the local stock of tissues?

I am in the North West if that helps?

There are various types of pollen/allergens all year around, but I (and my two dd's) have def had hay fever in the past week and we have started on antihistamines.
My eyes have been itchy so and nose too so what you have could very well be hay fever.
You can get homeopathic remedies over the counter to try or otherwise there are various anti-histamines you can buy. Itchy eyes though do not really seem to be helped by anit histamines so you might want to get eye drops...either over the counter or on prescription. Good luck!

you could speak to your local pharmisist and maybe try a nasal spray for seasonal rhinitis. you may also want a general eye drop to ease your eyes. talk it over with your pharmisist and see what they recommend.
Just bcause you've never had it before doesnt mean that you will never develop it.

Thank you both! Sounds like a trip to the chemist then.

Me too. I had a cold a couple of weeks ago and it didn't seem to end. Realised, when my eyes were itchy, that my hayfever had kicked in.

I used to have it very early in the year and then it would go away, but for the last couple of years it's carried on through the summer.
