I've also posted this in food but I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Dp is catering for a friend's 8 year old dd's birthday party in a few weeks. Friend's dd is allergic to dairy and one of the children who has been invited is allergic to nuts.

DP has decided to prepare entirely vegan food as it'll allow both children and any others at the party who might be vegetarian/vegan to eat everything. And it minimises the risks of cross contamination.

He has a few ideas already, but I'd appreciate it if MN could suggest any other items he could make.

The suggestions can be suited to adults or children or both, as there will also be a lot of adults at the party.

TIA.

Hot finger food:
Baby sweet corn
Homemade oven chips - potato wedges with skin on, cooked in oven, drizzled with olilve oil and salt
Veg kebabs - roated veg on bamboo skewers
Cornbread with tomato salsa
Vegan indian snacks - bhajiis, samosas pakora.

Small tartelettes made with vegan pastry (lots of roll-out is - or make with vegan margarine) with roast tomatoes, mushrooms or spinach fillings.
Vol-au-vents - ditto - one of the big frozen puff pastry makes is vegan.

Crudites - carrot sticks, cucumber, celery, with vegan dips - homemade vegan guacomole, tomato salsa, homemade vegan hummus (but check nt allergy child is not allergic to beans / pulses - some are)

Breadsticks (check that they are vegan - proper 'grissini' made with flour and olive oil)

Fresh fruit kebabs
Choc fountain or dip made with vegan dark choc.

TY that's very helpful.

Apparently the birthday's girls extended family is complaining that it isn't fair that there won't be cheese and nuts at the party.
It's not as though it's their party. Why on earth would the girl's mother want to serve party food which would kill her dd or her dd's friend?

People are so strange.
