Very dry scalp

Hi,

Wonder if anyone could offer any advice. My 18month old DS has had eczema on his legs which after numerous trips to specialist has finally gone. Recently he has started with a very dry all over scalp. Its not the same as the eczema on his legs and its not cradle cap. I've tried a few different shampoos. Thoughts anyone?

Thanks

There are shampoos which teh doctor can prescribe, unless you are against strong chemicals in shampoos. That's what works for dd2.

Try Dentinox shampoo or Halos 'n horns.
My sister has a very bad reaction to parabens and formaldhyde which when you look on the labels is in almost every shampoo, cosmetic, bubble bath etc. She is fine with the ones mentioned above. My dd also gets a bad flaky scalp so I bought Head and Shoulders which didn't help at all but with the Halos 'n horns products it disappears. PS> I have no connection with them, just want to share my experience.

Coconut oil is very good. I get wee tubs of it in local chemist for £2 and it lasts ages.

some info here

Agree with LMC - coconut oil is great - I get it from healthfood shop and use it anywhere on my skin. I buy it in solid form so in winter it helps to rest it on a radiator to soften it a little before use.

My dd2 has this too.
The Gp prescribed a special shampoo(cant remember name off the top of my head)
It hasn't made any difference,if anything it has made it look more sore.

Thanks for all of your feedback everyone. I've just brought some Horn and Halo toothpaste so will try their shampoo along with coconut oil. If all fails the GP

Thanks again
