Tclanger - did you come off dairy because of an infection?

dh is dairy (lactose) intolerant, but only came off dairy about a year ago. Before that, he was fine, as he had built up such a tolerance to it (in fact, he craved it, so not so fine, but no symptoms, iyswim)

now that he is dairy free, if he has dairy at all, he gets similar symptoms to those you describe (including the unmentionable ones ).

so it may be that you are now reacting as you have got rid of the dairy tolerance.

Yes, sounds very similar to my experience - incredibly painful tender area under ribs, the runs, cramps and wind. Followed straight after a bout of food poisoning two years ago

No longer have milk but am able to have a little cheese.
