Face Paint allergy

Hi my son who is nearly 3 years old had his face painted on Sunday. In the evening he was covered in of small red blotches not only on his face but on his body too. Could this be the face paints?

My son also had a reaction to face paints, and I haven't let him try them again because of the soreness and inflammation they caused. He is allergic to something in suncream and when we were at the hospital I asked them to check the face paints but nothing showed up.

ds2 has an allergy to face paint, in his case it's the lanolin.
