Dairy intolerance - how do we go about trying it to have the best chance of success....or does it not work like that?

DS2 has been df from birth, as medical advice from paed given because his big brother has cmpi. On the odd 'accidental' challenge, mainly through nursery or grandparent error he had the same symptoms as ds1.

Now he is 5 we wonder whether there is a way to get him 'nearer' to a cows milk included diet. DD [our dc3] isn't intolerant, but has goats milk like the boys to keep her eczema under control. Any suggestions, please?

5 is the age when most have grow out of cows milk intolerance.

goats milk only works for some people with cows milk intolerance, as its quite closely related.

there is no other way of testing a intolerance other than comsuming it.

how and when you do that, I think is totally up to you.

on one hand you dont want to exclude a food group from a childs diet without good reason, and on the other hand you dont want to cause some days worth of pain.

I am not being much of a help here, sorry!

I would only give a small amount at first , good luck!

My DS2 is severely allergic to multiple foods and we've been told, when trying anything new, to rub a little on his cheek, then his lips, and lastly to give a v.small amount to eat (if all ok). Could you try that? Or maybe that wouldn't work if it's an intolerance rather than allergy. Sorry, don't know what cmpi is
