A tomato allergy?

Every time my 13mth DS eats tomatoes or tomato sauce he gets a red spotty rash around his mouth (quite pink) and he seems to itch his own hands.

Is there anyone who can offer any thoughts / advice?

He did react to egg at 8 months, but he hasn't had that since.

Thank you so much.

my eldest gets the rash you describe if he have tomato products, have never worked out why
he gets a similar one when he eats anything salty like crisps too though

This is very common - if you do a search in allergies for tomatoes you will find lots of advice

I have the same thing as does DD. Worse with tomato puree which is in alot of premade sauces. Does he have excema? we both do. I think it is to do with the high acid content of them. Salty things and Oranges are similar for us. Just wash the area and hands with a warm flannel to reduce the itching.

Thank you so much. Yeah he does get eczema, but it is pretty much under control now with hemp seed oil, just a pale pink rash.
I will have a search thank you (sorry, I wasn't aware could do that and I did scroll down quite a few). I will look into that, cheers
