Please can you tell me which pure oat and oat products are free from contamination i.e. are 'pure' oats, are listed in Appendix III?

I've got it - it's quite long though, so before I type the whole lot out, is there anything in particular you were looking for?

Nikkiemadisonandbump · 10/10/2008 17:01

nappyaddict · 10/10/2008 17:32

I've got it.

You can buy it from the coeliac society for a tenner.

I think it's free if you are diagnosed coeliac (I had to pay cos my boys are intolerant, but it's not coeliac.)

Just came on to type it in for you, but hecate's got there before me! Can recommend the Spoff highland oats - made a great crumble with them!

nappyaddict · 10/10/2008 21:15

can you get this stuff from the supermarket or do you have to get it from a specialised place?

OP posts:
tkband3 · 10/10/2008 21:34

If you're an officially diagnosed coeliac, then you can get some of it on prescription. I got the spoff oats online, but can't find them on the site I think I got them from. Have found this one though where you can order it. Some things you can get in the bigger supermarkets, but it can be hit and miss and I've found they're not very good at stocking the uncontaminated oats.

hecAteTheirBrains · 11/10/2008 09:27

You don't have to be coeliac. My boys get all the prescription stuff and they were tested and came back gluten intolerant by the university of sunderland. They sent a copy to the gp and my boys get all the stuff on P16-26 section called Prescribable Products. This is mainly bread, flour, pasta, pizza bases, biscuits etc. The rest you have to buy.

and it is EXPENSIVE!!!

hecAteTheirBrains · 11/10/2008 09:28

oh and I think you owe me a thank you very much for typing that BLOODY MASSIVE list out for you, y'bugger!!!!!!!!! My fingers nearly dropped off!
