I’m allergic to fragranced candles and candles made with paraffin. Some types of fragrances are worse than others. What do other people feel about them?

Terrible. I can't cope with any artificial fragrances due to sinusitis. They give me blinding headache, running nose and eyes. They're really bad for you as well.

I don’t like them either OP. Plus in non-IGE to soya and nearly all candles these days seem to be soy.

My dd is allergic to ‘fragrance mix two’. She had a patch test in hospital. It’s quite a common allergy apparently.

Thanks for that @Tuuuuune. I’ve never actually heard of that allergy before. It must be so hard to navigate Flowers

Yes, it’s a pain. We have to read the back of so many bottles. She has to have specific washing powder, hair stuff etc. people have to open windows when she comes round. At secondary school she had to leg it out of sports changing rooms before the deodorant came out and at university she has to have a en suite.

You are right most candles are made with paraffin oil, you can get some made from vegetable oil. I get my candles from Ashleigh & Burwood that are made with sasol oil, these definitely don’t have a paraffin smell.
