Swollen top lip DD18

Hoping I can get some insight from the mumsnet hive!

DD is 18 and four times since 21 December has had a very swollen top lip. Three times upon waking.

Been to the pharmacist and GP and awaiting allergy tests (booked for May) but in the meantime I am worried and at a loss as to what can be causing it - especially so late after food has been eaten

On the one occasion it happened during the day she had eaten cake with pistachio so we thought, okay it's nuts and they can be avoided. However yesterday she didn't eat nuts and her lip was normal when I saw her at about 12.30am. She didn't use any different products than she always does.

It was really big when she woke up this am, since went down, but I am getting really worried. Especially as she is back at Uni soon and will be in halls without us to watch over her.

Does anyone have any ideas or experience?!

DD15 has this occasionally, we’ve tried keeping a diary of what she’s eaten/touched in the hours leading up to her lip swelling but have yet to find a common denominator that isn’t in her usual diet or day to day life.

Could your DD be stressed? I’ve noticed that dds often happens in the run up to a school show or dance show. Google said that it could be Idiopathic angioedema. We have extra strong antihistamines that she carries around with her all the time and takes if needed.
