My son is 13 months old and since 6 months old we've had confirmed allergies of cows milk protein, egg and all nuts except walnuts. We are based in Ireland and have started on the Irish milk and egg ladder. The milk ladder here is 12 steps we've had set backs as I thought he was further along on the milk and egg ladders. However after the chicken pox at 11 months and recently an ear infection he's reacting to even step 1 of the milk and egg ladders eating fractions of the recommended foods like tesco malted milk biscuits and fairy cakes. The allergist wanted a full panel of blood work done to see exactly how allergic he is to milk , egg and nuts. We are waiting on the results. I was just curious if anyone else experienced these set backs. I just feel like in 7 months we've gotten nowhere 😕 😪
It would be great to hear of success stories. I know the majority of kids overcome milk and egg by around school age. I'm just scared going by his reactions, none of which were anaphylaxis thankfully that he might be allergic for life as even 3/4 of a malted milk biscuit is giving him hives and he's currently not fighting any viral illnesses.
