Am I having an allergic reaction?

I took a Flucloxacillin tablet just after 9pm. I started 2 days ago, this is my 3rd one of the day.
About 15 minutes ago, lying down in bed I started feeling this horrible sharp pain in my throat and I feel very sick and I feel as if something’s stuck there and it’s very painful like my throat has been cut. I’m now sitting up but still feel lumpy in my throat and painful.

does it sound like an allergic reaction or just side effect?

I do suffer from allergies and I’m really paranoid which is why I’m posting and not calling for medical help yet. I once had a severe reaction to pollen in the garden and throat was swollen but I didn’t go in until a few hours later and they rushed me in with cortisone then I was given an EpiPen. So I’ve always been paranoid since then. Advice please thank you x

Maybe reflux and the tablets come back up a bit?

I've had this when a paracetamol didn't go down correctly. It was agony. Drink lots of water to make sure it isn't still in your throat then I'm not sure what you do. I waited it out but that's probably not what you want to be doing..

Thank you @VerityBlueSky do you think it would be ok to take a gaviscon or wait it out.
I do feel gassy so thanks for suggesting as it’s making me less panicky

Thanks @Tdcp I felt fine when I took it and I’d been laying down for a while but it could just be that and reflux. I’m sitting up and burping so hopefully it’s just that and will go down.
I’ve never had such pain in my throat it really is agony! Plus it’s mainly on one side so likely not an allergic reaction hopefully 🤞

I'd do as tdcp said. Sit up, drink lots, let it go down and settle while sat up for a bit. Having gaviscon would help the reflux, so don't see the harm in having some of that.
