I know they are good for you but within about four hours of eating kefir I get insane painful bloating it’s like I’m nine months pregnant. Its agony and lasts into the next day. Same happened with that Symprove stuff.

I thought these things were meant to be good for our guts?

I had a similar response to water kefir, which is a nuisance because I rather liked it. I'll try it again, but very carefully next time.

I can drink a whole can (250ml) of kombucha and I can eat a couple of tablespoons of kimchi with no problems.

I think if you're sensitive to it, it's best to start with very small amounts and build up. So, with kefir, only have a few mouthfuls rather than a whole glass of the stuff to begin with. Then try to build up the tolerance by very gradually increasing the amount over a couple of weeks.

Many people have a similar problem when introducing more fibre into their diet. Again, it's best to do it gradually.
