Allergy to lipstick

I seem to have developed quite a few allergies over the years, mainly cosmetic. After Covid-19 I developed an allergy to hair dye just at the age where I’m starting to go grey, certain hand soaps and I now have an allergy to lip balm and quite a severe allergy to lipstick. For years I was constantly getting really sore lips which really got me down and I always put it down to cold weather, being run down, B12 deficiency and carried on applying more and more lip balm, it took me ages to realise it was probably the lip balm I was reacting to, and lipstick is even worse. I left everything off my lips for over 2 years and had no problems, then last week I tried a lipstick again as I wasn’t sure if it was all of them. I really wish I hadn’t as I’ve had itching, tingling, burning, swelling and this time even my tongue started to tingle as well as my face, I think I was bordering on severe allergic reaction it was scary. 1 week on I still have extreme dry sore lips that are driving me insane and some tingling. I’ve accepted that no more experimenting from now on and I’m embracing the grey hair and no lipstick life from now on. I worry though about other potential allergies. I really hope I heal soon from this latest reaction (the soreness and extreme dryness is really annoying). Has anyone else had this kind of a problem, it’s miserable and annoying. I’m 43 so probably to do with peri menopause.

Yeah.

l can wear Boots lip balm and beeswax and that’s it. I can wear one Clinique lipstick. Sometimes a lip balm under a lipstick can help, but l think this is just what l like to tell myself.

l feel your pain.

among other ingredients, I found I gave to avoid shea butter. Most lip products contain it, but there are a few exceptions.

Someone once suggested vegan lipsticks for allergy sufferers on here. Victoria Beckham is meant to be good.
