Hi,
I'm hoping someone might have experienced something Similar and can offer some advice/ opinions !
My little girl is 12 weeks old this week. I am BF and introduced some formula from around week 1 as ideally wanted fo combi feeding for flexibility. Around 4 weeks she started showing signs of CMPA, pimple like rash on face/chest/shoulders after feeds, very congested and 10+ soiled nappies worn mucous. I decided to go dairy sleep and swap formula over to pepti1 to continue with bottle combi feeding. She absolutely hated pepti and would gag on the taste not having more than an ounce or two max. Her symptoms did improve with reduced dairy but her nappies remained mucousy. Fast forward to 10 weeks and she was still turning her nose up at pepti unless it was combined with breastmilk to dilute the taste. When seeking help from a dietician she informed me that there is new advice about breastfeeding and eliminating dairy and in fact it doesn't make a huge difference seeing as it's such small traces in breastmilk so I slowly introduced dairy in mu diet again and to my surprise my baby didn't react any differently. This has brought me to challenge her cmpa diagnosis and I combined 50/50 breastmilk and dairy formula in her bottle yesterday and today and she seems to have tolerated it fine.

Would this mean she was misdiagnosed ? In afraid I'm doing more harm than good by giving her dairy but also don't want to waste any more time / force the pepti formula on her when she clearly hates it.

I feel like I'm constantly thinking about it and found around in circles !!!
Any help/ advice would be much appreciated.

Many thanks!!!

Really hard to say but I do know that CMPA can leave as suddenly as it can arrive, that's why they suggest trying milk products again once a month in case they've "grown out of it", so it could be possible that the CMPA diagnosis was correct at the time and now she no longer has it!

Thanks a million for your reply. Yes maybe she has outgrown it... I didn't expect her to outgrow it so quickly but maybe her gut and digestive system have gotten a little stronger allowing her to tolerate dairy better!! Thanks a million we'll keep going with it and hope for the best !!
