Side effects of levothyroxine

Is anyone else showing physical signs of side effects to levothyroxine? I stopped taking the tablets for a period of time and my eczema completely cleared up, started taking a lower dose as suggested by my doctor and my skin is flaring up again. I’ve been told there’s no alternative medication for this condition but I definitely have an allergy to the tablets.

Not me, but I wonder if you might be allergic to one of the other ingredients in the pills rather than the levothyroxine itself? If so then a different brand might work.

Some people take animal thyroid extract rather than synthetic thyroxine but it’s not regulated in the same way.

You’re not on the Teva brand of levothyroxine, by any chance?

It makes loads of patients feel ill.

My independent pharmacy are great and try their best now to get alternative brands like Wockhardt and Accord.

(In my case, it is the acacia additive that’s the issue.)

@AutumnalCrows I’m on the accord brand, always have been. It’s since having my children that I’m having problems. I think my body’s just changed and doesn’t like it anymore.
