Allergic to lemsip?

I’m experiencing mild swelling/burning inside my lips and on my tongue. It’s happened 3 times now when I’ve had a cold and taken lemsip, so now I’m wondering if lemsip capsules could be causing the issue rather than helping with the cold.

anyone got any advice? It doesn’t seem serious enough for the doctor, but will the pharmacist be able to help?

Do you mean whatever the capsules are made of rather than the drug itself? I believe all Lemsip contains is paracetamol and caffeine.

Perhaps try the drink version and see if you get the same symptoms.

I meant the ingredients not the capsule.

ive taken an antihistamine and the swelling hasn’t gone down, although the lower lip is less sore, which makes mw think its not an allergic reaction.

Stop taking the lemsip.

Are you usually OK with paracetamol tablets?

Do you have any other allergies you know about? I could be wrong but I have a vague memory that a friend of mine who is allergic to gelatin said it is in lemsip.

Be aware that new allergies can develop at any age. I was in my 30s when my hayfever started. I also recently started a dust allergy,
