CMPA- combi feeding help

Hi all,

I’ve got 6 children. 2 have CMPA, both were exclusively breastfed. I’ve now got a 6 week old. He was initially EBF but I’ve had to combi feed the last couple of weeks for various reasons (I was unwell and antibiotics affected feeding, issues with supply after I had an infection, he struggles sometimes with breastfeeding as was NG fed for first few weeks of his life).
He has been a very gassy baby while combi fed. He gets terrible smelling gas and only poos every few days- when he does poo it’s thick and mucusy but not hard at all. He hasn’t done a poo since last Thursday or Friday- the HV doesn’t appear concerned when I spoke to her. He has been increasingly unsettled over the last week or so. He has had a rash on his face but I’m unsure if that’s just baby acne. I’m starting to wonder if he also has CMPA- but I’m unsure if symptoms would have been more immediate with formula? I know with my breastfed babies they didn’t show symptoms at birth and I’m sure it was about 6/8 weeks before it was obvious. I’ve tried not using formula at all today. He is less gassy but still hasn’t done managed to poo, so has been unsettled.

Has anyone any experience of this?
