Is it possible that I am allergic to fexofenadine?

My dermatologist put me on fexofenadine this year. I've used piriton, loratadine and cetirizine for long periods without any problems, but my reactions are breaking through and the doctor felt I needed something stronger.

In the last few weeks I've been getting random itchy weals. I thought at first insect bites, but they're definitely not. I've currently got 3 on each arm and one on my face. They last for several days.

Could they be a reaction to the fexofenadine?

I've not even been using it in large amounts recently. I know to taper my use, so I don't go from 4 daily to zero overnight.

I suppose it is a possibility. How are you now @Dilbertian?

I switched back to loratadine. The hives are almost gone and I have not developed any more.

How odd. I’ve just spent my second summer on Fenofexadine and it’s been really good for me. I’m sorry it hasn’t worked for you Flowers
