Hi my DS is 9 weeks old, he really struggles to open his bowels going only every 4 days and then it’s like water and an explosion. he’s gaining weight fine and take 5-7 feeds up to 7 times a day. All that milk going in and nothing coming out is causing him to be in so much pain every evening (just as I’m settling my DD) that it’s torture listening to him in pain. It breaks my heart. He’s been on lactose from 4 weeks, 2.5ml twice daily (gp prescribed), my HV then said stop it as we’re just medicating him and his gut may just be immature or he naturally goes every 4 days. We give it every other day and only once just as a bit of help but it’s not doing anything. One of my HV in clinic suggested comfort milk, please help! We go on holiday in a weeks time.
